Isn't this a strange little plate? I have no idea what it was used for. I thought maybe a sandwich plate at a luncheon. I love the shape of it and the flowers are so tiny and delicate. If any of you have any ideas about it, I would love to hear them.
It sure is pretty. In my browsing around antique and thrift shops, I see quite a few plates in that shape. They are usually part of a full dinner set, where both dinner and bread & butter plates are the same shape, just large and small. But I have also seen individual plates for sandwiches or cakes in a square shape...it was probably a popular or fashionable shape at some stage.
These stories are dedicated to the loving memories of my childhood on the family farm and to my life on our farm. May my children always know how Blessed I've been.
